Within a Dream
Within a Dream
Blackness permeates the night air
I want to feel you
Stand close to me, I’m afraid something is there
Underneath me
It seems to be following me
Moving with me
We should stay close to each other
Our two bodies moving as one,
We stop suddenly
Your hands touching me
My heartbeat’s racing beneath
My breasts
My lungs, fill as I gasp for air
A frenzy enters my belly
Unknown sounds echo through the air
Anticipation intensifies
The air has become very still
I want you to feel
My hand in yours
My thighs contract
Ready to run
My body trembling
I find myself screaming
As I come
out of this dream
as you come
out of this dream
together, into the crowning light
I want to feel you
Stand close to me, I’m afraid something is there
Underneath me
It seems to be following me
Moving with me
We should stay close to each other
Our two bodies moving as one,
We stop suddenly
Your hands touching me
My heartbeat’s racing beneath
My breasts
My lungs, fill as I gasp for air
A frenzy enters my belly
Unknown sounds echo through the air
Anticipation intensifies
The air has become very still
I want you to feel
My hand in yours
My thighs contract
Ready to run
My body trembling
I find myself screaming
As I come
out of this dream
as you come
out of this dream
together, into the crowning light

Put me on the list of those who laughed and blinked reading this.
Well done Cate

Well done was my thought, too, Cate. Very dream descriptive!

Once a girl described orgasm to me as:
"like a fried egg,
sunny side up!"
Your poem reminds me of this Cate.

Yeah I got that feeling too Mat that if I was in that dream that my sunny side would be up., mind you, because of some language issues I have, I ask for my eggs sunny side out.mat james wrote:Once a girl described orgasm to me as:

Re: Within a Dream
Can you explain that one Jack? To me, the word "up" means away from the center of the Earth. So, when someone asks for eggs, sunny side up, assuming the sunny side is the yolk, that tells me that he wants his eggs with the yolk farther away from the center of the Earth. What does it mean to you? Do you ask for them this way to ensure that the shell will be opened? It seems very difficult to ensure that the yolk will be on the outside of the white.lazariuk wrote:Yeah I got that feeling too Mat that if I was in that dream that my sunny side would be up., mind you, because of some language issues I have, I ask for my eggs sunny side out.
(Luckily, I like my eggs over-medium.)

Like a fried egg - I had to think about that for a moment - but it seems true.mat james wrote: "like a fried egg,

It seems to overflow doesn't it - you can't really control where it goes - the best part is the bright squishy oozy centre - and it's a great way to start a day.
Re: Within a Dream
I just think that out is a better word to use to describe away from the center. If someone reading this is in New Zealand they might think that the direction I am describing as up is in fact the opposite from where I am pointing. We have out in common but not up.Manna wrote:Can you explain that one Jack? To me, the word "up" means away from the center of the Earth. Re: Within a Dream
I un-intentionally misquoted the lovely creature.Once a girl described orgasm to me as:
"like a fried egg,
sunny side up!"
Your poem reminds me of this Cate.
What she said was similar, but better.
She explained her experience of post-orgasm as :
" I feel like a fried egg
with my sunny side up. "
I love it!
But back to your multi-layered poem Cate.
I "tremble" at the thought of your anticipations! My body trembling
