The UK 'Times' newspaper today reports the rumour that Leonard will be headlining
the Sunday spot at this years Glastonbury Festival (UK 29/06/08).
Better get the 'wellies' out!

If Leonard can manage more than an appearance in London, I hope he can travel 200 miles north and visit Liverpool. This year Liverpool is European Capital of Culture, and there is a wonderful venue, the Philharmonic Hall which would be perfect.

Regardless, I will try to make it wherever he goes in the UK, and/or possibly somewhere in Europe too.

Major holiday plans are on hold right now!

Thank heavens he's not! There's only one Elvis, just as there's only one Leonard. Both are [were] giants in their field and we all have much to learn from them.

It is so gratifying to read all these announcements. A dream literally coming true.

I only wish the nightmare hadn't preceded it. This is clearly the silver lining for Leonard's followers and, hopefully, by the end of his tours, Leonard will feel the same.

May G~d be with you and the angels surround you throughout all of this.

Love,
Lizzy

Dear Philip,

It's you who have to decide what's more important - holidays or THE CONCERT.
Hint - holidays happen every year... what about LC concerts?

In tandem with Mirek, I'll be going on holiday so as to be able to see Leonard!

look here L.a.w (LindaAllWet).... crotchety is as crotchety sees.... is it not strange that on the way to an LC performance we would debate the nasal protuberances of Cyrano and Pinocchio... who nose how this will end?....

Marcel
Marcel,

I can think of nothing more perfect than walking hand in hand with you into the concert with nasal protuberances on our lips. In that fashion, we can wipe the horror of our first meeting from the slate, forever.

Canada is no longer a benign border crossing, alas. The recent spate of drug scoops and murder, acts of terrorism, etc. has made this the longest and most paranoid border crossing in the world. It seemed to happen over night. If you must make a trek North for the Cohen concert, be advised that passports will likely be required. I know it's true the other way. I shall be standing on the other side, waving my lace hanky crying "Marcel, over here". So, please, be quick about it.

Adieu, adieu, adieu...

I can't believe it. I hope he will sing in Italy, in Rome. The only time he played in Rome was in the eighties, and I had no money for the tickets. Moreover he spoke at the university, that was less than 1 km far from my house, but i didn't know it. There is always a second chance and I hope I will not fail.

I think the Glastonbury June 28 story could well be true. There is a tradition of booking a senior music "legend" in the Sunday teatime spot at the Glastonbury Festival. Last year I saw Shirley Bassey in that slot. Previous legends have included Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Tom Jones and Tony Bennett. Leonard will fit the bill perfectly. And the good news is that the BBC will broadcast the entire performance live. This also indicates that the European dates will be in June and July...

NO? Do you mean 'no' to the lace hanky? Or was that a typo. As has been mentioned, he will tour Canada and the U.S. in May, and the European tour will be 'in the summer'. Further details available in February. Every single one of us hopes he'll come to our home towns, if not our homes. But, at this point, nothing is confirmed, as I understand it. We'll have to wait until February. Naturally, he can't be everywhere. He was in the UK so much recently - give us poor North Americans a chance to see him. OK? Please?

Dear Riccardo ~

I was touched by your posting of near misses. Welcome to the Forum and I strongly suggest you stay tuned.

Yeah, Linda [just kinda glanced at your posting here... but saw that you said something about he can't play everywhere]. I can't help but laugh as I see all these places mentioned where people understandably and sincerely hope he'll perform... yet, 'reason' has a way of saying "not likely... ". I almost feel I'd be guilty of oversight if I didn't say I hope he performs in Florida. Sorry. Can't even get it said without laughing.

If there's ONE THING I know for sure, it's that if I want to see Leonard perform, I'm looking at breathing some recycled, stale air on a plane. As you might say, nuff said ;-) . Love to everyone who really wants him to perform in your town or a city near you. I can sure understand it! I'd still be planning to travel, though. The main question will probably be how far.
