a) shares the same name as Leonard Cohen
or
b) looks like Leonard Cohen ?

I don't know why I'm asking, it just intrigues me I guess.

If there is someone out there, does it affect their everyday life?

Hello Pete,

I don't know anyone who looks like Leonard or is named Leonard Cohen. However I saw an interesting advertisement or commerical on Public Television. PBS is my favorite way of obtaining information about the world. Such wonderful programs. The advertisement begins with a man, a composer sitting at the piano, desperately trying to compose a piece of music, apparently have terrible writer's block. Paper is blackened and then discarded... Sitting there the musican looks out the window at a telephone line strung between two poles and watches as a bird sits there! He smiles. Another bird joins the bird on a wire...and another...and another. The musician turns back to his work with renewed joy and begins to write.... The caption then reads "PBS Inspires"

But it reminded me of dear Leonard and "bird on a wire".

From the way you describe it, I'm thinking it may have been inspired by Leonard, Coco ~ just too consistent with more than one element. Great commercial for public TV.

I did a search on Leonard Cohen on a second-hand bookshop website once, and one of the matches it turned up was a workshop manual for some car I had never heard of. Either our own dear Leonard has hidden talents, or there is someone out there with the same name.

Somehow I find Dustin Hoffman looking much alike L.C. And I have pictures of my father from his young days that too look like L.C as a young man. It has bothered me through the years

But certainly I know no one that writes songs like lenny!!

linmag! It seems that years ago, when I was in Canada, I checked the Montreal phone book for his name [absent intention to show up at his front door ~ not my style]. I was curious whether, if he were there, he would allow his name, etc. to even be in the book. I can't remember the results, but I'm guessing there weren't any. However, with Cohen such a common name [apparently], and Leonard not being terribly uncommon, that the law of averages would be in favor. The car repairs may be proof-positive of that theory!

Yes, Dustin Hoffman and Al Pacino and, now on my list, David Blue [at least the shot of him standing near the stairwell, not the more recent close-up of his face only], are similarities. Aren't you the lucky one, Cia...... .

I know many people think Leonard looks like Dustin Hoffman...but I just don't see it! To me, they look completely different. Dustin is rather plain...while Leonard is EXTRAORDINARY. But come to think of it.. when I was watching Rasky's film, I thought Leonard looked like Ratso Rizzo in a couple of places...he was so thin....especially on the open air bus... he looked so emaciated and sad...

My girlfriend's father lives in Washington and he KNOWS Leonard Cohen But it is famous American historian, his books are even translated into Croatian language because he has some famous works about former Yugoslavia and war in Bosnia. When you wrote LC's name on internet, you usually get his books also, like at Amazon.

I know for certain that there is/was a Leonard Cohen who is/was a solicitor in Perth, Western Australia, as his law firm is currently operating under that name and is listed in the phone book, along with an email contact (@leonardcohen.com.au).

I have a picture on my notice board of Leonard and if I had a pound for everyone who thinks its Dustin Hoffman I would have £12.75. So on that basis I think Dustin Hoffman must look like him.
