Leonard's music featured in "Criminal Minds"
Last night's season opener of "Criminal Minds" featured excerpts from four of Leonard's songs: Night Comes On, Dance Me to the End of Love, Sisters of Mercy, and Who By Fire. Gives me hope that there are still some individuals at the US networks with some taste. But seriously, ya gotta lov...

Re: QUIZ 2010: where is the last concert
Guys, I understand that you miss some of the backup singer of the past; but don't hate the Webbs! They are doing a sublime job! Ouch. Yes, my personal preference for Leonard's "angels" are Jennifer, Julie, and Perla, but this is no knock on the current three females in the touring...

Re: Leonard Cohen Talks About First New Album of the Decade
For a long time I've wished that Leonard would attempt a bonafide "concept album" that told a particular "story" and combined both songs and spoken word compositions. Not to mess with Leonard's creative process, but I've always thought he would blow us away if he attempted an alb...

Re: Calling Fellow Canadians - CBC listeners
Just finished listening to the much anticipated version of Hallelujah as played on the bells. My musical tastes are very eclectic, but this rendition of this great song doesn't work for me. Maybe it's because I'm spoiled by the concert recordings I have of Hallelujah from the 1985, 1988, and 1993 to...

Courtney Love covers Cohen
One of the acts I caught at this year's Ottawa Bluesfest on Friday was Courtney Love's band, Hole. Regardless of what people's personal opinions are of Love, "Take This Longing" by you-know-who is a part of the band's current set-list. Nicely done, like the original. Right after the song, ...

Re: Will Leonard please sing Always in Auckland concert?
It's funny you should mention Leonard's version of "Always". Just this past week a previously uncirculated bootleg of the April 27, 1993 show in Odense, Denmark, was graciously shared on dimeadozen, from the analog master. Three encores were performed, with "Always" being one of ...

Please count me in if an Ottawa pre-show can be arranged. I'm OK with any venue. Thanks.evelyn wrote:Let's see how many are interested - I would like a place that includes fish and vegetables on the menu-

Re: The Webb Sisters also in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal!
Thought I would give it a try, and I was able to order my ticket for the Ottawa show on-line before 8 a.m. this morning, so I guess the "12 noon" start time was incorrect?
Good luck to those seeking tickets...

I've stayed out of the fray for the past couple of days, but I do have a couple of comments....whether you want them or not. Jarkko has reassured us that we WILL understand when the announcement is made. His hands are tied. If you are upset, then cancel your reservations...cancel your flight...canc...

[quote="da2008"]There's a few things in here that are far from being entertaining. I totally agree, but as a die-hard Cohen fan, I can understand the concerns of fellow ardent fans...personally, I'm really hoping for news of the new album and can't wait for the "Bird on a Wire" f...

Re: BONO CRIED OVER COHEN
Isn't that just like Bono to make a Leonard Cohen concert all about him! (And, his favourite songs don't include anything from Leonard's first six albums? What a shame!) (Sorry, but I think that Bono is a big wind-bag!) I agree; and, is it just me, or is U2 extremely overrated???? NOTHING fro...

Re: "Bird on a wire" (the Tony Palmer film) coming on DVD
Great news! I hope we also see The Song of Leonard Cohen released on dvd too sometime in the not-so-distant future! I totally agree!!!!!!! I wish we had an "official" live release, be it audio/dvd/or both, for each of Leonard's tours...especially for new fans to hear, given that Leonard a...
