Re: Rehearsal photos

I was 21 in 1988 and I didn't like Tower of Song even then. It's not a bad song, but the cheap and crappy synths and drum machines ruin it for me. Imagine it being played on guitar... i'm not sure how it would sound on guitar, but it sounds perfect on "cheap and crappy synths" methinks ;-...

Re: Lyon concert the 9th of july

French people--and to be fair, Italians as well--are in my experience waaaay less orderly about waiting in lines than Brits--and I mean that as a complement to Brits! They just have different ideas about lines here than what I was used to in the States, and the UK seems to be even more committed to ...

Would that be in the big court next to the church? Where do they put the stage? I guess if they built some bleachers a bit vertically...anybody have a picture? 8)

Re: Nice Jazz Festival tickets on sale 10 April

That's weird...last time I did 'print at home' with fnac they gave me .50 off for saving them the trouble of printing tickets. Greedy Ba"§*rds.[/quote] Sorry, probably my mistake. It said '-0.50' which I took to be a dash but, in the light of your experience, was probably a minus sign. I wasn'...

Re: Prague Castle? [NO]

That would be fantastic, in the unlikely event it happens...but does anyone else who's been to the castle grounds have a hard time envisioning enough people to make the guarantee? I don't remember anyplace there that could hold a 4-digit number of people in a way that they could hear and see a conce...

Re: Nice Jazz Festival tickets on sale 10 April

Tickets are now also on sale through the fnac site, earlier than they previously said. The price there is 51 euros though they offer the option of a print at home ticket (0.50 euro charge) so maybe you can save on delivery charges over the other outlet - I haven't checked. Steve That's weird...last...

Re: Nice (France) - Look who else is going to be there!!!

Sorry, folks, I spent my teenage years and early adulthood in Nice: it's the most wonderful place to live. Actually, unlike Cannes, for instance,or any of the other little towns along the coast, Nice is a real, working city. It isn't a stage set. My parents had a shop (around Boulevard Gambetta - 1...

Re: I found a site willing to sell NICE JAZZ FESTIVAL tickets

yeah, these are bad folks who prey on peoples' irrational fears of not being able to buy tickets through normal channels. It's hard to imagine that this show will sell out so fast that an attentive fan won't be able to buy tickets properly--the Lyon show didn't sell out at FNAC.com for close to two ...

Re: Nice (France) - Look who else is going to be there!!!

ROTFL! Only people who've never been to either place could confuse gorgeous, sunny Nice for dull, dark Lyon. *running away, pursued by Lyonnais and Lyonnaises*) OMG what a cheapshot!! ;-) If I were a real lyonnais and not just married to one I'd be offended...but I still gotta point out for those t...

i'm sorry, i'm cnfused, i meant lyon... wrong thread I know we're in the wrong thread, but since you asked: If you want to look in English, I would post a 'looking for' ad on Lyon's craigslist page...if you are comfortable doing this business in french, there are a number of similar pages. Re: petition for U.S. dates?

Friends, Why should a man who was largely ignored in America bother his barney playing there. Yours in Albion, William "largely ignored" might be a bit of an exaggeration...although I wasn't in Europe in the late 70s-early 80s when folks say his popularity in Europe was at its peak and th...

Ditto...I'll be the guy right behind you, the one with the Frenchwoman (my wife) who doesn't understand what the big deal is 8) . Big thank you again to Judy for tipping us off that the tickets would be available an hour earlier than advertised on the FNAC site. That's weird, but I'm not complaining...
