Xmas card from Heathen Buddhist

I hope this is slightly unsuitable for hallmark

Merry Xmas from a Heathen Buddhist

I think of friends this time of year
And Holy beings too
Like a cloud inside my mind
There came the thought of you
The cloud is bright and very white
And stands out very clear
May it even be more light
Every single year

(I considered sending this to those in the forum who have corresponded with me individually.. maybe this is a better way)

A lovely poem, daka, and so suited to the current feeling in the air. One of hope for a brighter future, finding friends, making light, making love, and all the good things that we find in life. From soup to nuts. Thank you for pointing me this way. Another C&P for my 'feel good' folder.

All the best and more (if possible),
Linda.

in lines and rhyme and leaves us
with his wisdom

Merry Greetings to your nature, Daka. That's a lovely greeting you've shared. May these days go well and be blessed for you.

Here's to light across the sky,
a bright New Year. And if we try,
we might just keep the forum easeful.
Without the venom, days are peaceful.
A truce it seems has broken out,
goodwill is (almost) all about,
if that should last then oh how great!
(But I won't bet past 2/1/ 2008)!

Nice poem William
Most appropriate
And inspiring

I actually sent this xmas greeting to Hydriot as a PM and I meant it.

In Buddhism we are taught to regard those who attack, hurt, insult, offend us as emanations of our holy beloved spiritual guide giving us a gift, a personal teaching. For those as unenlightened as I, however this is not yet an immediate or spontaneous response to the experience; it takes me a while to change my view, unfortunately. But there is ever so slight progress.
Therefore I remain an optimistic atheist.

This optimistic atheist
Believes in Miracles
They don't need a god
In order to happen

Very much the wrong thread for this, but I've not toured the board, and I really don't feel like it - but:

Oh, we as forum members may have made the date, but it seems the 'bigger picture' couldn't withstand the pressure. RIP Benazhir Bhutto. It would seem the 'world' at large is not designed for miracles of the bigger variety.
