Harry's Guitar

Dear Santa
The present I want is quite dear
But I know it will bring me great cheer
It'll help me to sing
So please bring bring bring
The present I wish for this year
This present I want is not mine
But surely it's never a crime
To want it for me
And then you will see
that tonight will be fine fine fine
This present I want isn't far
I'd even go get in my car
No need for wrapping
I'll only be stopping
for Harry's guitar ta ta ta!

Pete for Harry's guitar you do strive
A hundred or more miles you'll drive
Your voice has a magical sound
You don't need to drive all around
Get some spoons from that old kitchen drawer
and enthral us by singing once more.

Harry might yet sell his guitar. It's the Pete(r) Pan effect.
Sometimes things peter out,
But sometimes they pan out.
Two edits as I struggle to write something less nonsensical. It's not working.

Hi Lizzy!!
Harry (Padma's husband) kindly let me use his guitar at the Green Note and it was such a beautiful (and expensive) guitar. I asked him nicely if he would sell it to me for £25 but he just laughed in my face

see...that's him laughing now.
I made him an offer he couldn't refuse...but he refused!!!!
maybe he will read this and send it to me so as to shut me up...maybe.

Pete I gave you my best rhyming verse
This talent of mine is a curse
I can't play or sing
I stand at the wing
and wish I could at least write bloody poems

Paula..that's right, two wrongs don't make a right and what Diane wrote wasn't right until she righted it and if she rewrites it then that's three writes she''ll have written and three rights make a wrong ..am I right or am I right?

Paula, your prose nearly rhymes
except for the very last line
but who cares a jot
cos we like you a lot
now go finish your bottle of wine

How dare you I don't even drink
The last one when straight down the sink
To be fair it wasn't wine
not fruit of the vine
Just milk that was starting to stink

Paula doesn't drink it's true
oh no, she has more class
instead she gets the great man drunk
so she can nick his glass!

Now Paula she ryhmes with such ease
her verses are starting to please
but the milk that she threw
it wasn't that new
and that's why she smiles with a cheese
Paula..please let me go to bed now

I did retain the glass tis true
I got in just ahead of you
The man had had his fill of that
and put it down just where I sat
You would have done the same I know
And now I have my own Glass Show

Pete I too was on my way to bed
But could not rest my heavy head
The cat and dog had nicked my place
There is no where to put my face
I had a bath and washed my hair
and now the cat has nicked my chair
