DNO SERCA BY PAWEL ORKISZ
New double album with 18 Leonard Cohen songs in Polish translations

The title of the album "Dno serca" means "Bottom of the heart" and it is taken from "In my secret life", translated as "Somewhere at the bottom of the heart". Pawel Orkisz is a journalists but he has also been a well known performing artist for 30 years. Pawel has released 12 albums before this one, but he is not new to Cohen – he was the winner at “The Festival of Leonard Cohen Songs” in Cracow in 1983 with his version of "The Window" (he has made completely different lyrics to Leonard’s melody). Orkisz is also one of the organizers of the annual "Ballads of Europe - European Festival Of Ballad" at The Royal Castle in Niepolomice near Cracow. In 2007, one of the festival days was dedicated to Leonard. – Sebastian Korta.

Incredibly beautiful cover art 8) . Thanks for posting this, Jarkko. Sebastian's comments make this album seem particularly appealing.

Is that just computer art on the cover or actually a statue? I thought it was a statue, and I was wondering who made it. Made me go "wow!".

That was my impression, too, Laura. To really be accurate, I should have called it that, by leaving it as "the cover," but since it was the 'cover' of the album, I referred to it as the 'cover art' for the album, and I let it go at that. I agree that it does seem to be a statue/statuette, though. It's really beautiful and appears to be a real statue set on a black surface with a drape or some other kind of black background. Very simple and elegant. Beautiful lines and intimate 'attitude' of the figures.
