This evening I watched James Taylor in concert on TV.
His singing and his guitar playing were both as entrancing now as they were many years ago. Not all the songs were written by him but it didn't matter.
During the performance it suddenly dawned on me that he would do any Cohen song justice...the songs that came to mind tended to be earlier ones.... 'You know who I am' .... 'Suzanne' ...... 'Lady Midnight'

Yes, James Taylor has my permission to do a Cohen song.

Many other artistes have covered Cohen but are there others who would lend themselves to performing admirably?

I wonder why he hasn't, now that you mention it. Unless he doesn't think he could do them justice. I wonder. Or maybe he has and we just don't about it?

I love James Taylor saw him once at a Folk Festival in Buxton but I don't know if his voice would do justice to a LC song. "Sweet Baby James" is a classic album

He hasn't covered any on Leonard's songs... I've checked Jarkko's list.
Watching him stand in the spotlight with guitar in hand, the tempo of his playing and his distinctive voice just made me think that he would perform Cohen admirably. I may be wrong but it was a nice thought. :)

James has released 2 Very fine DVD concerts. Live at the Beacon Theatre and ????? has slipped my memory. If you have a DVD player I can recommend them as worthy aquisitions. His band and vocal chorus are superb. 8)
