For those who know Leonard Cohen no description is necessary. the High Priest contains 13 translations- into Hebrew - of Cohen's poetry/prophecy songs. A live album from Jerusalem that sounds like studio mixes.
Leonard COHEN translations cd - a guns2guitars production

Prophecy didn't end with the destruction of the Jerusalem temple. Of the 3 Jewish 20th century pop-prophets, Dylan, Simon and Cohen, it is Cohen who most uses biblical imagery and characters. His midrash in Story of Isaac, told from Isaac's view, was Ofer's 1st translation to Hebrew. Recorded: Pargod Jerusalem 96 with a 3 piece and released on the CD עיין ערך עליון.
Who by Fire, from a High Holidays prayer, returned to Hebrew as kaddish for Ofer's father on גדעוןin 2000. The Future, a dark prophecy, the letter פ, the Tarot's Tower card, appeared on דעת, a 22 song CD recorded before 9/11. Tower of Song, a blues, from the universe/year/soul concept CD, Hey in 2001. In 2002 these 4 got new arrangements with Abe Doron on drums and the bass playing and voice of Neta Amir in אלתרנטיבה and entered http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com, the site for Cohen afficiandos. A Singer Doesn't have to Die: a piece about Ofer by Colin Cooper in http://www.stylusmagazine.com . A Hebrew google of אלתרנטיבה will lead you to reviews in Blind Janitor and Muzica. Everybody Knows , Hallelujah , Joan of Arc , Lover Lover Lover and First we Take Manhattan, translated 2003, became part of הכהן הגדול tour which reached its apex at Jerusalem's Yellow Submarine. So Long Marianne and Bird on a Wire, English singalongs from the tour, were translated for this CD. Old Revolution: the combat soldier who experienced the man-made hell of armed conflict telling his student to be a Mensch and remain moral even when wearing a uniform and stepping into the furnace, became סיירת גולני. When your English is good enough to appreciate the genius of Cohen's prophecy, your knowledge of old and new testaments broad enough to see his commentary, and your love of translation and the Hebrew language deep enough than you will fully receive קבלה what we have given on and in this g2g CD. The surprises.... Neta Amir's singing and Mickey Bussidan's piano. In Jerusalem Ofer is known for doing his Leonard Cohen translations and 10 of the 13 tracks were recorded live at a performance though the sound quality is that of a studio recording.
