Death's Little Brother

Death’s Little Brother

We meet nightly
‘tween loss and gain
ebb and flow
fall and spring

A secret world
I fear and loathe
Grasp and love
Cannot avoid

Mellow dramas
Play out inside my head
Greek chorused
Ever real unwinding
Behind closed windows

Trapped beneath the dross of the day
Picking its way towards daylight
Fathoming the unfathomable
Beyond my control, my comprehension
There’s work afoot

Sleep

I'm a big fan of Carl Jung. He has heaps to say about that condition which you write about, including the intrinsic luck, potential and beauty of it all.
What about you, Byron?
Have you delved into Carl's views on this subject?

Very nice.
Sometimes I think we die every night and are reborn each morning and repeat the cycle endlessly until Big Brother comes around.
