Nice try Pete, but there are many of us that never go there, a long standing truce that predates the current 'battleground' issues.

Aha! "
Many of
us" with a "long-standing
truce," eh? Sounds like a "
clique" to me.....

.
Oh well, so you miss out on a fun activity. Your choice, and just when some were looking for fun.

Partisan ~
Regarding the posting in the Poetry section, where you never go, but still managed to go ~ but not to contribute in any blending-in way. Please look at the instructions. I'm modeling how it's just fine to totally "mess up" on whatever meter has just now been altered [per the instructions and that it's okay to do] and still contribute, without fear of retribution from the likes of you. You, on the other hand, have blatantly defied the one, specific request of what not to do. Geesh.
I'd originally stopped with "connect" but decided to go with something along the lines of a dangling participle. I liked the bonding idea. It's my line, leave it alone....come up with your own that either recoups the meter or goes into more free verse.

Nice try???
This has nothing to do with any other issues. It is not designed to tempt people to the poetry section and I'm sure many can decide for themselves the worth, value and fun of such an exercise.
It is not compulsory, so no one will mind if only a minority respond.
My first post here says " if you need a light hearted distraction...."
If you don't, then don't go
Nice try Partisan

after some hiccups it worked very well and a poem evolved.... the difference is that that there was no one there to spoil it

it should be OK once partisan removes his bit.
I also presume Godzilla will remove his unless it is intended to be his contribution to the poem
Thanks for the vote of confidence

If the one or two posts are not gone by tomorrow, Pete, just post again with your first line; then Paula with hers; then me with mine; then, the flat tire once fixed, we can roll on down the road, and maybe Andrew McGeever will show up and rescue my meter [if
anyone, surely
he
]....I know there will be others along

Tysh your post IS the flat, not mine. Your line is unfollowable. Delete yours and mine will go. 8 beat poetry is hardly unusual, nor hard to write.
"I wondered lonely as a cloud......."
See?

NO line is unfollowable. Just requires a little more creativity. If each member were allowed more than one line, I'd follow it myself.

OK, Partisan ~
Here's the deal. I've changed my line somewhat. Not because of your insistence, but rather as a result of a friend suggesting a possibility that I happen to like better, which still includes "bond." So, go ahead with your line, and delete that dreadful flat tire, so we can get on the road again. It would be most thoughtful if Godzilla would do the same.

At the risk of showing 'dog-like devotion' I have to say I love your idea, Pete, and I may even be tempted into eventually also contributing.
Woof woof
