Raincoat in the Hall

I saw you sleeping in my bed
I couldn't get to thinking straight
You got inside my head
Getting weary of this one night scene
You're just a shadow on the wall
Another raincoat in the Hall
Feeling like
Life's just hide and seek
We're always on the run
You tried to make me feel
I was your only one
I couldn't recall your name
But I'll remember your face
And our eyes full of shame
I gathered up your clothes and rings
It didn't seem to matter anyway
I'm tired as an old has-been
You're just a shadow on the wall
Another raincoat in the Hall
As I stare into your memory
I can see no soul
Only a dying candle burning
Between the winds of old flames
I'm feeling worn and cheap
Confused and unclean
Bed sheets tangled in a heap
Our lust turned inside my sleep
You're just a shadow on the wall
Another raincoat in the Hall
You said you were lonely
You looked so pure and holy
You promised good times
But I couldn't find laughter
You said you cared
But didn't show it
I'm tired of the morning after
You're just a shadow on the wall
Another raincoat in the Hall
You opened your eyes
They flashed a vacant stare
You ask for coffee
And sit naked on my favorite chair
Leaving stale sex in the air
I wish you hadn't sat there
You're just a shadow on the wall
Another raincoat in the Hall
The early sun throws shadows on the wall
As I take your raincoat from the Hall
My friends tell me
This kind of living is wrong
This is no way to carry on
They don't understand
The loneliness of lust
Is just too strong
You're just a shadow on the wall
Another raincoat in the Hall
Casting your spell
On my insecurity
You tried to steal my trust
By strangling me with lust
You're just a shadow on the wall
Another raincoat in the Hall
As I help you with your raincoat in the Hall
You try to catch my embrace
As you step outside my front door
I want to run from your shadow
That's creeping along the wall
I can tell from the way you're wearing your face
That you're out to get me.........
I couldn't get to thinking straight
You got inside my head
Getting weary of this one night scene
You're just a shadow on the wall
Another raincoat in the Hall
Feeling like
