Her Line was Straight

Her Line was Straight

Her line was straight
erect stiff yet solaced

Her feet firmly foundational
barefoot on sand dusted stone

Her hair her hair her hair
fell trestling warbling raven

between the line of sea horizon
blue grey non-shimmering stiff

and between the line imagined
from her feet on flat rock rooted

to the care an observer takes
noting the ordered symmetry

of a young woman seen
performing yoga exercises

near the pier at Sandycove
as the HSS ferry glides in

on the line imagined between
the place of stillness sought

and the earth hurtling

MMMmmmm... Very evocative, Jimmy, with many lovely images. No time to say more, but sure others will 8) .
on the line imagined between
the place of stillness sought

and the earth hurtling
I love your juxtaposition and contrast here.

Trumps again, Jimmy. What an engaging and original exploration of the "line". I imagine your pieces sounding even richer read aloud. I'd like to hear you read them (complete with gorgeous Irish accent).

You are a poet, Mr O'Connell.
