No-mans land

Empty Barrelled Heartache

I thought I grasped upon the hour of my decent
Into infernal complications
Of telephone lines abuzz
With murmuring dissidents
Who cannot abide my new apocalypse
That I wore upon my sleeve
Vote now or forever hold you piece
Unloaded til the bitter end
When in desperate measures you go
To blow your brains out and find
An empty chamber that whispers again
Hope
Don’t dispel the click and whistle
Nor time the last lap of your race
Three legged as it were
Bound to bounty
But not displaced until the hour of your decent

Plane left into the open jungle
Plane right upon the arid cow pat
Land and be delivered
Safely unto no-man’s land

Were it not that I should write this
Were it not your eyes to plea
In desperate connotations
Like those that cannot swim
Left upon the sea
Into moments glory finds us
Into life our feet must tread
When this action has no recourse
In the gloaming hour of need
Walk beside you, as I am you
Walk towards the setting pride
Life a glitter rosary
God within to turn this tide
Mount up and ride to glory
One day at a time
You are good within your goodness
You are loved by smiling eyes

Now go out
Have fun
Have fun

Jim,

That was quite a rollercoaster ride! I was relieved
that it ended on a positive note.

"One day at a time" is how I like to take life too.

Take care,
Sherry
