Love of mine - Amado mío

Your words awoke
my sleeping heart,
they sprouted tender roots,
and bloomed as a flower
named "I Love You";
my hands already painted
the walls, the soil, and the table,
and the diary is ready
for you to write,
all that you will see with me
and what you will not see too,
love of mine
---
Tus palabras despertaron
mi corazón dormido,
brotó la planta de la ternura
y creció la flor llamada “te amo”;
mis manos ya pintaron,
las paredes, el suelo y la mesa,
y la agenda está lista
para que tú escribas,
todo lo que verás conmigo
y lo que no verás también,
amado mío

Nice...it has a Neruda feel to it (especially, my hands already painted, the walls, the soil, the table) but then falls a little short to his expansive imagery.

Hi Sandra ~

Your poem has very special, personal meaning for me. Thank you for writing it. I always enjoy a lot the way you deal with 'love' in your poems and this one simply has very special meaning.

thanks Kush for your comment...you are right about the short fall...
Lizzy...loves always inspires and it is nice to know it reflects a universal feeling!
