drunk sublime

San Juan de la Cruz, some Hindu sculptor genius,... and you...

By burning participation
in your gaze
embracing me,
some dark night from your eyes
filled me

“My soul is lost in something
...clinging,
roaring ‘god in God’”
the mystic friar stammers;
...and I applaud!

I too absorbed the Cause
while my doe-struck hart grazed
I leapt the secret ladder
in that Rama/Sita gaze,
de-cantered the Cloud Unknowing
drowned in spiced wine
rolled in the womb of God
drunk sublime...

staggering and stammering
some ancient lost
I found
in that tranquil night of samadhi
...all around…

my wounded heart
grazed
clinging!
and you who fed me there
gave your all
unknowingly
in that Eastern lover's stare....

through your dark eyes
...of love
windows
to the mystic room:

where consciousness is timelessness
and bride and guest and Groom.

Hi Mat 8) ~

When I read your writings, I feel transported to other worlds. Your poetic sense and expression seem to mark the intention that brings you poetic experiences with life. Thank you for sharing them with us.
