Strange affair
When the Princess belly-danced around me
I almost fell. So lonesome was my flesh.
The cell was bare, her veils dropped one by one
Upon my naked body in the cellar.
I managed to resist though I stood tall.
Unsatisfied, rejected Sally knelt
Before her mother's husband. The reward
Was brought to her upon a silver tray.
But when she tried to kiss my dead eyes open
The jealous King stabbed with his other sword
Her back, and when she fell on me, my lips
Gave all the kisses I'd denied before.
The Queen, gone mad, insisted my head said
"Oh, Sally, I am John. Now baptize me."
