The Shadow in Your Life

There is another world
So much like this one, you’d superficially not notice
Upon first inspection
The difference
That world is this world, as this world is the next
They are but bubbles in a current.
Of course in innocence
You are one,
So two worlds should be no mere fright,
Those that love you still judge you not
Like flowers grown towards your light,
So when the sirens
The media
The feeding frenzy alight
Capturing you to their delight
Putting you down inside with bricks,
It makes no sense!
Thoughts are not so pervasive
Worlds are not so paranoid
Anger not so menacing
If kept in hidden corridors.

Murderer of children
They, the parents of their lost innocence
Scream night after night
Murderer, the birds, the air, the essence
Points at you.
Guilty, came the gavel
But today no hangman’s noose
Life just wasted for wastes sake.
Your thoughts moved you to?
They took you from your room
In dreams! your defences pouted
You slept in barren rooms
But I am love!
Your barbed tongue lashes
You, who took so many lives at night,
Unhurried in your gross, your glaring demonic delight.
You wake each new morning a saintly sin
Nothing more than nothing’s din
Until your sirens run from you
Until you come unstuck
Such rotten luck
To walk from this world into that
Such rotten luck its true

Mind The Step

The blood red river flows
Feels like paint between my toes
My mother there at my hand
Games rioted till Zion
Tabloids now tablets
Chiefs walk the streets
Credentials flow through sewers
Times they are now they are then
They will be again, possibly, changin'.
Berkley was an atrocity
But Cambodia made even less sense
High chairs for infanticide
All off my property!

Mind games turned to bloody floors
Coffee, I want my coffee
Forgot to get the coffee...
Asylum time come and gone
They gave Him the all clear
Painted walls, a mind with double doors
No more are words just souled
Insidious double taken growths
That we are
What are we?

Time to change again
In peaceful retaliation against ourselves
We breathe carbon monoxide breath
Cars and smokers lungs
Anger
Angry
Death

In lighted tunnels cometh
Hope
In darkened doorways
Regeneration
Perpetration of our crimes
The cat burglar
Does in time, spare nickels
These spare rhymes

Eyes flash the densest pupils
Fear, a death stare
Lies of all mankind
We must hold fast
To that which is
Quod bonum tenette
Good

A kiss, a kiss, we've all gone amiss
Art reaps her sullied reward
Pre life tension
Sewers flow within or without you
Breathe lest this air of graceless night
Become to thick
Adonis man built it
Build him again
Your blessed stand
Another heart locked down
Another scarecrow stare
To wander the freeway
Of lost souls

* These are for Bernard, the light that shines the brightest in uncertain times, hope the pooch appreciates you cutting down for him! cough cough.
*And no more dark poetry, you get back to your crystal vision, I shall endeavour to do likewise. :D
*of course if you need to write dark poetry you need to write it, don't let anyone tell you what to do.
*this is becoming a poem unto itself.
*think i shall call it astrix.
*the previous five stars make up the poem astrix
*this astrix has nothing to do with the previous astrixes at all, indeed if you read down to here you read far to far indeed.
