Revolution Ten 10 X
Two thousand came and went
Bug free, not literally
But no planes dropped from the sky
“Executives Still Make Important Meetings”
A few good Christians still sigh,
Christ is in Jerusalem trying to be heard
But there’s to much wailing going on
The computer age and the international business machine
Expanding still like you don’t want to believe
The same old new ideas banging against a pier that needs some help
Scientists started telling us the male of our species was slowly dying out
This was considered in differing lights
Positively and negatively
The yanks were still the greatest super power on earth
And they were still acting accordingly
Oil was in good hands
But its pull was dragging us closer to the sun
Big business went into retreat
Trying to touch their toes and then up to the stars
Whilst their products ran rampant in the streets
Many people killed themselves again
I listen to the Beatles Revolution
“We’re all doing what we can”
Sometimes I believe it
Some days I think the race is run
Nowadays there’s panic and there is panic
I still gape when I hear people are “finally accepting environmental concerns”
I think of Picasso and his birds and their birds
I think of the animals I’ve loved and lost
Force myself not to look, point and blame
Ego fanfare and our slow merry-go-round
I fall again out of bed
Shuffle down the road
To earn my daily bread
I do it all for you
Myself being to proud
God goes back to sleep
Two thousand came and went
Bug free, not literally
But no planes dropped from the sky
