Preparations

I bound a book today
Sent it to a huge library
Gurr, said the huge library

The worst thing is
when I glued the leaves
in the right order
I started to wonder what they
were thinking about it
This to be put with strangers
for eternity on a shelf

I called the library and they confirmed
An eternity
I don't think I'm so pleased with this
I shouldn't be so happy myself
I should have started to fret
I should have started to eat my neighbors

But I've been thinking
I have prepared myself
and when the Great Binder shows up
I'll be ready to scram

Dear Xavier ~ Are you meaning for this library-from-a-book's-point-of-view to be comical, or is it just me today, or am I missing it altogether? At any rate, I sure enjoyed it.

I once had this nightmarish vision that I was page 122 in a book, and I couldn't stand living near page 123. This led me to reconsider things. The first day of the new year I took a bus, leaving the place and the situation. I am not sure this is possible but I haven't been there since and I've never felt like a page 122 again. I just wanted to remember it in a poem.

Yours Xavier

Hi Xavier ~

Unbelievably wonderful origin for a poem, and it makes it all the better. It sounds like you definitely recognized the sign being given you. Thanks for the backdrop. You did well in capturing it in your poem.
