Pelican Dream (ii)

A pelican wings her way
through the whispering space of morning
Wheeling beneath the paleness
of a moon's winter hunger
Her cries echo in the stillness
and across the paddocks of lowing cattle
An awakening sun ignites
her appetite for the redfin of the lake
And in a farmhouse
a philosopher stirs in her bed
Dreaming to the rhythm of the kitchen clock
Oblivious to logic and forms
She wanders the landscape
of her imagination
And somewhere there is a table
with wine bread and candles
