Nice article on Gordon Lightfoot:

There aren't a lot of young people that catch his ear in today's music scene. He is somewhat aware of the emerging artists on the scene, especially in Canada, but he still puts on Dylan and Leonard Cohen when he just wants to kick back and enjoy some music. He is even working on a cover of Cohen's Stranger Song for a concert Lightfoot is doing in Cohen's hometown of Montreal later this fall, as a small tribute to his friend and compadre in the formative folk scene.
Bob Dylan personally inducted Lightfoot in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1986.
..and a favorite Lightfoot number from youtube..

Thanks for this, Kush.
I was wondering how he was getting on...especially after his illness last year (or was it 2 years ago?)

I wish he'd come over to the UK..now that would be a treat and a half :)

Maybe if you ask him nicely...... :)

I had a chance to see him in the mid nineties but did not go... in fact I think I've been to only about 7-8 concerts my whole life!

Bob Dylan
Bruce Springsteen
Johnny Clegg
Cesaria Evora
Madonna
Jazzfest New Orleans (3 times)

+
Willie Nelson at Billy Bob's (Fort Worth) - self-proclaimed worlds biggest honky tonk. Probably the only bar with a rodeo inside.

if I remember any more I'll be sure to add to the list!
