A friend of mine is the son of Mr. Rodarakis. He wants at least a picture of his father. Mr. Rodarakis was in contact with Leonard Cohen on the island of Hydra. If there's anybody who can help me to get a picture of him, contact me

Hi Tweety ~ It's a difficult search you're on for your friend. My suggestion would be [remote possibility!] to write to Leonard's offices re: the name of any central, community figure living on Hydra during that period, who still lives there now [with contact info, if possible], who might know enough to be of any assistance ~ if he/she remembers the man; knows who might have taken a photo of/with him during that time and might still have a copy; knows anyone who was a friend of his and how to contact him/her. If you could even get a name, perhaps you could contact the travel agency there, and ask them to give that person a message with your own contact information and permission to call you Collect; or a request that he/she write you. I'm presuming Mr. Rodarakis is deceased from the way your post reads.

Perhaps you could find previous living places, via the Internet ~ and go to the archives of newspapers in those areas. There may have been reason for his photo to have appeared in the paper at some point. I don't know whether or not you were hoping for Leonard to show up here and say that he remembers and has a photo of him, but your best possibility with that route would probably be to request that, that question be posed to Leonard by Sony [if you write them] if they are willing and get the opportunity.

Good luck. I've never been to Hydra, so I'm totally out of the loop for giving you any direct help. It sounds like it's going to be a long and arduous search for you.

Reading this over 20 years to late - but I know Kostas Rodarakis. Please contact me if this is still relevant.

20 years later I don't think they didn't found it.
