Sounds really familiar. Is he the one who did a great version of that wonderful old song, "Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter"? If so, then yes, I must be a fan. Oh.. and I just thought of another song... "Bottle Of Brandy".. did he do that, too?

I think this will be Ronnie Lane of the Faces; a great musician and songwriter (and good guy by all accounts), who struggled with and finally succumbed to MS. I believe there is an autobiographical film and several re-releases of his work recently released.

Those are definitely two of his more famous numbers (as a solo artist)

Davido - I thought he was the only Ronnie Lane?

Thanks JTS! I don't know much about Ronnie Lane, nor do I have any of his albums - have only heard his work on a few compilations made for me by a friend a few years ago... but what I know of him, I really like - his music sounds so plaful. I guess I should try to dig up something of his... do you recommend anything in particular?

I'd probably start with "Ronniw Lane's Slim Chance" and "Tin & Tambourine" and "Anymore for Any More?"

If you want to start with a Greatest Hits album then try "Kuschty Rye"
