hi haven't posted here in awhile. have recently returned from greece, took stranger music with me and a mini disc full of cohen wonder, wrote allot... here's one that arose.

women of the world

you were sat on the mattress.
the light wasn't working.
'god help us.' you said as i manhandled the wires.

i left you behind and went into day light
to find the old woman.

i spied her from the balcony watering in the vines.
loping between the groves, that thick unmistakable back.

born to bear fruit from the earths dry half.

i beckoned her back with dumb hands,
she dabbled forward her fingers understanding.

when we arrived the lights were on
and you had wires in your hand.

i didn't know how to explain.
so you did. and apologised to her.
she smiled,
realising you spoke the same language.
