Poem G:

An Old Letter

Please go away, leave me alone
I need solitude, don’t you phone
Your letter came, full of lies
It smelled of scent and alibis

I archived it, filed well away
It could not see the light of day
Filled with promise, filled with lust
I left it there to gather dust

I found it, just the other day
Foxed and brown with time’s decay

No longer sharp enough to cut me

Hi~

To me, this had a bluesy cadence and ambiance. The ending line is stunning.

Good job.

Thanks,
Laurie

Lots of neat rhyming here. Like Laurie, I also very much like the last line.

I 3d the last line! I also appreciate the excellent rhymes and the natural progression of time in this poem.

this reads as if written by a pissed-off child and what's wrong with that!
