Some last year's impression

Summer Memories.

One of those nights
drinking Martini on the open veranda
singing our melodies
and rhyming little poems.
the crickets filled the warm air
with their song
and you said that I made
a schizoid of you.
the old- fashioned lampshade's
soft orange light
touched your open hair
and I took a picture of you
sitting in Lotus
on the olden red Hollywood Swing.
you formed your name
of molten purple wax
and told me to lie down
with a sweet little communist girl
when I spoke about
candied cherries in my cocktail- glass.

Hi Chaske....Aside from your describing my very favourite kind of lampshade and a dramatically-beautiful sounding swing, I find your poem moving from fresh to rich images, then sweet to erotic. What a lovely memory you've captured for yourself, and [by proxy] for others, with it.

I like this - thanks for bringing it up again Fish.
If the poet still posts here - thank you for a good read.

you say that, and yet you have failed to comment for nearly 10 years since she posted it. hard to think of any mitigation for your neglect.

I like it even though it's old.

It's like a photograph of words.
