Old Love Letter

Sorry doesn’t make it
As freedom never can
I’m halfway through this journey
Not halfway near a man
And now I wish I’d shown you
How proud you made feel
By writing me these letters
That told me love for real
But sorry doesn’t make it
I know I wish it could
I’m halfway through this journey
Not doing what I should
And now I wish I’d shown you
this tiny lonely heart
That did not dare to love you
and then was lost apart
No sorry doesn’t make it
I’d write you if I should
I’m halfway through this journey
Not doing what I could
And now I wish I’d shown you
reality apart
You did not know the stranger
But loved his tiny heart
But sorry doesn’t make it
As freedom never could
I’m halfway through the forest
Not knowing any wood
And now I wish I’d shown you
How well you made me speak
By granting me some spirit
Where power made me weak
As freedom never can
I’m halfway through this journey
Not halfway near a man
And now I wish I’d shown you
How proud you made feel
By writing me these letters
That told me love for real
But sorry doesn’t make it
I know I wish it could
I’m halfway through this journey
Not doing what I should
And now I wish I’d shown you
this tiny lonely heart
That did not dare to love you
and then was lost apart
No sorry doesn’t make it
I’d write you if I should
I’m halfway through this journey
Not doing what I could
And now I wish I’d shown you
reality apart
You did not know the stranger
But loved his tiny heart
But sorry doesn’t make it
As freedom never could
I’m halfway through the forest
Not knowing any wood
And now I wish I’d shown you
How well you made me speak
By granting me some spirit
Where power made me weak
