A great 'tactile,' visual rendering of a conceptual, 'moral'/'ethical' [until I find the correct word and edit this] dilemma, Greg. As I read through it, I 'get' it but then have difficulty expressing how or why . Perhaps because it is so simple and universal in its way? Perhaps because we all face that same tiny, 14 cm step in our way? Still, I believe we're never too old to consider anything.

I don't like the last two lines, though: they deflate it for me. I think age is a positive thing in the quest.
