Force of Nature....a poem

Force of Nature

I Love:
The sound of a creek as it drools over rocks…
Watching raindrops play leaves like piano keys…

I Love:
The lush green hymn of wind dancing through trees…
The Ocean’s salty perfume beckoning from miles away…

I would dry the creek, stop the rain,
Calm the wind and contain the oceans,
If only to hear your voice, one more time.

regards, Laurie

You've captured the connection to a deeply-loved one's voice.

Very beautiful, Laurie.

Your best poem yet, Laurie. Have you ever head that country singer - Tom T. Hall - he sings a song where every verse also begins with "I Love..."

Vesuvius~Yeah. I vaguely remember a ditty about puppies and paper cups (??!?) To tell the truth, this poem originally had the Italian form of "i love" instead of English.~~Lizz, thanks again! cheers, L

You are right, Laurie. Your poem is much better with an Italian "I love".
