a thread not to be diverted by Byron this time (hopefully).

this great idea still needs a judge, the interthingy is far less of a problem.

if no-one voulunteers then I'll just start another thread for people to post their efforts without any comp. or "prizes".

If there are no rules surrounding interthingies, I would have no problem in volunteering, but I can't judge as I'll be a participant.

There must be one of the frequent participants in the forum who can judge. I'm guessing that people are afraid that their opinions won't be respected, or that they'll be attacked, and this is what keeps people from volunteering.

New rule of the forum: everyone that likes Leonard Cohen is right about SOMETHING! C'mon!

Hi John ~

As a previous interthingy, who also entered, it can be done.

All entries come through you, and get copy-and-pasted for sending on to the judge [via another PM], as an anonymous entry. You send your own on, in the same fashion, and the judge still has no idea who it came from  .

So, interthingy and enter, both ~ and good luck :D !

Hi Lizzay!

I don't want to give away the plot of my story, but Lizzy isn't in it.

Sorry!

So John K., if I remember right, you are the grandfather of the short story, idea, right?

What we know so far is up to 1000 words.

I looked online and best I can tell, a 1000 words is about 2 pages typed at 12 font (in WORD).

If anyone has more better info to provide folks with an idea of how long, or short (depending on how you look at it 8) ) 1000 words is, please share.

Is:
Staying next to Leonard Cohen

the official subject?

I am looking forward to the new car as payment for this task. I am hoping for a mini-coop. (thanks in advance)

I'm getting older by the minute!! Yesterday I was just the daddy.

As the interthingy and a contestant (sounds like an old Hair Club for Men commercial, I'm not just the owner I'm a client), I promise not to change the entries I get tooooo much, I'll just take out a word here or there so the 1000 word max isn't exceeded.

KIDDING!!!!

Okey doke~

Glad to read you are still planning to enter a piece while being the interthingy.

I was just being funny about 'grandfather.' You can be any relative to the notion you'd like to be 8)

Thanks for stepping up.

Laurie, do you think you will be able to attain a decent working relationship with someone as old as John?

Please do make an effort. After all, he is the Great Great Great Great Grand-Daddy of this idea (and he did used to live next door to Leonard Cohen, I believe).

By tomorrow I'll be too old to get out of bed, LOL.

I believe my neighbor, Leonard, is making me some chicken soup. His grandmother's recipe too.
