The words are incomprehensible, repeated
the conversations are noises, untempered

Some are writing, feeling
Some reading, searching
Some are painting, transfering
Some watching, showing
Time is talking

The words are unheard, repeated
all the conversations have been said

This poem left a feeling that I can't explain. I can't guess what was in the author's mind, but it touched me in a way I'd have to examine.

Linda.

not quite your point, I know. but this reminded me of the Kevin Ayers 1970 album, Shooting At The Moon and the lyrics

"There's nothing new around the sun,
Everything you think of - has been done,
All been done before your time,
At sometime or another by someone and his brother...yeah! yeah!"

the track is called May I / Rheinhardt And Geraldine / Colores Para Dolores, the first part is a soft café lament which includes the words

"May I
sit and stare at you
for a while
I like
the company of your smile"

and the track finally descends into wonderful discordant jazz/noise which lasts for minutes and was exceptional for "pop" music at the time.
