Believe it or not, it seems that Leonard's shooting with U2 this May was announced by club posters... I found this at eBay:

The item is a concert poster for a special performance by Leonard Cohen with U2. The performance was for a documentary about the legendary Canadian songwriter/poet Leonard Cohen.

U2 and Bono in particular have been big fans of Mr. Cohen's work . Bono did a cover of Cohen's Hallelujah on a '95 tribute album. U2 paid Cohen the ultimate respect by playing with him for this performance.

The poster was made by artist Viking 17 to commemorate this event. It is one of a limited edition of 250. #3 of 250. It comes with a certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.

The poster is in Mint condition. Of all the U2 concert posters availible, this may the greatest potenial for appreciation due to the rare nature of the event.

To see a higher resolution picture go to http://derrotekonig.bravehost.com/leona ... thmark.jpg and click on the image. Remember click on the image and it will enlarge. I loaded a huge picturefile and you should be able to see the item in great detail.

I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the image on this print. Up real close it seems a bit blocky and indistinct(not sharp). Note, this is common with some posters. You be the judge though, follow the link above and look for yourself, I loaded huge file and you should see the item in great detail. I don’t see this impacting the resale value though, since this is one of a limited run of only 250. It is relatively rare and that counts for a lot.

The size of the poster is approximately 13 x 19(Super B), media- 27lbs Paper- NOT CARDSTOCK, matte- Not Glossy. NOTE this is NOT a silkscreen. It is just a PRINT.

The same seller sells ltd edition of Canadian 93 show poster (Saskatchewan), made by same artist as May 2005 item, and which has nothing to do with usual Leonard's 1993 tour design... I'd claim it's fake (Jarkko?), so this one for U2 clip can be fake also.

It does say "to commemorate the event"...

The top one is beautiful. The bottom one is interesting.

I'll be interested to hear whether either or both are fake.

I watch all the LC items closely on ebay, this one is from a clever artist that has nothing to do with all the artists and bands and singers' posters and club posters that he makes.....but he's making a lot of money wirh it.....Just another clever ebay-seller....

Greetings Paul...................

Thanks Paul. I corrected the title of topic so it can be clear at first sight. (It is fake.)

That is really disappointing. I love seeing the posters/cover art, etc. and it's always such a let down when/if they're disccovered to be fake. The top poster is, as Lizzy said, 'beautiful'.

Linda.
