The Parting

Oh so very deep in the night
I was captured
by panic the claws of love
there were flashed of past and forever
on the thundering heaven above
So the loveliest arch in the world
fell down so fine and sweet
and landed on the seconds
that driftet before my feet
and a bloodskinned kiss of parting
fluttered across my face
and I said goodbye my darling
in a long and desperate embrace.

Dear Peter,
All of the references here are not quite as clear, some of them somewhat obscure [to my eyes at least]. However, it obviously is a poem of loss and parting....that comes through very well and strongly, particularly the final stanza[?]/verse[?]

this is very nice, Peter. It reminds me very much of our Lord's Prayer. Have you any new ones to post?

hi paula,
Yes they are "comming like a tidal flood" or should one say like metaphorical puke that transcends the subject-object quality of reason. The new songs I shall bring speaks of the mystery of being united with being itself, and by that looking into and accepting the infinite depth of nonbeing and doing so by the courage of love. This courage accepts the guilt that follows any decision. This love accepts that no heart is pure, and that we sometimes have to suffer the pain that no one seem to notice our mercy. This love does not go out into the street and announce how full of care and humanity it is.
This love I therefore cannot claim.
Peter
