Ballad of the absent mare

So, guys, it’s my first post here. My name is Eliardo and I’m an absolute fan of LC. My favorite songs are Suzanne and FBR. But a Personal favorite is Ballad, which I found out browsing this forum seems to be no one’s favorite. I have personal reasons to adore this song (and I have very strong views on the ever lasting dilemma of the meaning of FBR, which I will share with you later, on the proper topic) but it puzzles me a little to see that Ballad of the absent mare is, it seems, no one’s favorite. So, I’d like to ask your opinion on this song. That’s it. Cheers LC community, Eliardo.
