Cohen is now revered to the point of having a 10,000-foot mural in his honour on the side of a Montreal high-rise

I sense a little inaccuracy here. If it were 10,000-foot tall, it would be a danger to aircraft.
Various sources list it as 8,500 square meters or 8,500 square feet, neither of which is 10,000 feet.

I did not see the reference to which you refer, but indeed, a 10,000 foot high mural (and building) would be well over 700 storeys high (based on 1 storey = 14 feet), and although that would be one heck of a tower of song, it would be architecturally impossible, I believe. I assume that they meant "a 10,000 square-foot mural", which are the dimensions listed for the mural by Tourisme Montréal, the latter of which also note that the building is 21 storeys of the street (I added that last bit).

Ha! Lisa, I also didn't read closely that last link I posted.
Alan, that made me laugh about your astute observations of the height which should have been as Lisa says, the dimensions of that mural! The writer of the article must be a fan and looks up to LC so unconsciously put him on a higher level all of his own .... which is completely understandable ;-)

Hi Alan,

Your point is indeed well made... in fact if they’re claiming it’s a 10,000 foot mural, I’d be wondering what’s afoot!

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Yes, as usual, Leonard has all the answers ... choose one ;-)
"God is alive, magic is afoot
God is afoot, magic is alive
Alive is afoot, magic never died"...
