just found one of my old Barnet photos. I was a mere 41, much taller and I had a little more hair. David was 9, Rikki nearly 2 and Tori was one week old!
btw what's happening with a new comp? Laurie has agreed to be the intershammos, now we just need a judgy person.

Mikee~
Beautiful family!! Times flies, eh?
I don't see a big cheer coming from across the planet for another poeming contest...Is it a case of build one and they will come?!?
And for the record, if someone has their heart set on being the interthingy, I will gladly pass the baton.
toodles,
L

well, thanks. I only bring the average down for the family looks by about 50% but their mums bring it right back up again!
now- the comp. hmmm, I sense an enthusiastic indifference knocking round this gaff.. Let me start a new thread with the names of persons here who have ever posted poems or crits and see if any show interest.
btw "interthingy" was last year's word. now it's the yiddish
"intershammos".

I was going to say something to this effect, but took into consideration that famously fragile ego of yours and decided to cut you break
Thanks for taking the initiative with the name list. I see it is up already!
And most importantly: What is the literal translation of 'shammos' ?
ciao,

the shammos is a helper, an attendant. It is also the term for the middle lamp of the Menorah, which was used to light the other six lamps. Today it is the term for the middle candle used to light the other 8 candles in the Chanukiah (the Chanukah menorah)
the intershammos is slang for an interferer!

I promise to read all the poems once they're posted ~ and to do all and everything I can to be caught up in reading the previous contest and the rest of the Forum before that time arrives. I promise.
I promise to not be a slang intershammos in the meantime.

Very cool. I like the idea of being the Main helper candle that turns the other candles on....so to speak
