[Lady Gaga portrait]
It may not be great, but I like it! Lady Gaga looks better in your colourful portrait than she does in that photograph: talk about pale, waxy, and plastic -- she looks like a fake Barbie doll and not a real person.

yes, that photo of lady gaga was quite bad. the good thing about making an artistic version of a photo with too little contrast is that it encourages creativity, and freedom to express one's quirky imagination. one can almost hear it begging for vibrancy and dramatic alteration. it would be interesting to see how other people might interpret that same photo, although that's not likely to happen.

How do I post a pic here? It's a vanity thing so maybe that's why it's not working. It's on my computer desktop but I can't figure out how to do it.

Below the compose box (the box you get when you hit "Reply") are two tabs, "Options" and "Attachments" -- click on Attachments. Then click on the "Add Files" box, and that will give you your desktop files. Find your photo and click Open. Your photo has to be 256 mb or less. If it is the proper size, it will upload (if it is too big, it won't. Your photo software should have a resize option). You can then click on "place inline" if you want it to appear like the other ones here.

75 and staying alive! hahahaha...
Can't paint, draw, or even figure out how to take a selfie in a mirror but...I tried in my way to say Hey Friends!
(Thanks for the help Lisa. I really enjoy how you and G keep this place going. I found a cool easel, canvas, and paints at my thrift store. 8 bucks for the lot. So I went outside to set up start my Grandma Moses attempts and found these guys.

O geez, there's 3 of them but I'm not doing that great attaching pics. Anyway, artist endeavors delayed since I'm going to take care of these kitties and likely will keep one or two since I'm without cat company since my 12 year old Bootsie died four months ago.
Guess the universe has decided I need something to keep me...

Hey Dar, awesome -- glad you figured out the photo thing!

Kittens! Fabulous! From what I can see, they look adorable (of course they do, they are kittens!). I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Bootsie -- it's always heartbreaking to lose a furry family member. Hopefully these new sweethearts (as many as you choose to keep) will bring a lot of life and joy into your world! Baby animals are certainly a handful (I got a new puppy in January), but also tonnes of fun! Your new painting gear can wait, and I shall look forward to whatever you create, if and when that occurs.

Cheers!

dar, I only saw saw 1 kitty, but I will take your word that there are three, lucky you. I hope that the acclimation process, through which the kitties will learn how to control you, goes well!

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen ;-)

so true. just because one person can make a silk purse from a sow's ear doesn't mean they're unique.

Your wish is my command! (Well, in this instance, anyway -- don't get any crazy ideas!). It took me several seconds to draw this very realistic likeness of Lady Gaga!

wow, this is great art! the fact that it was completed in mere seconds proves that genius isn't bound by time. the colours, the expression, the incredible minimalistic naivety, the gorgeous necklace and earring! you've boldly captured lady gaga's spirit in a uniquely unfiltered way. it takes guts to share art, because it's always so tempting to hide one's creativity and avoid risking criticism. anyone daring to share their work should only be encouraged and admired. so thank you for being so brave, for having the courage to show this exceptional portrait. lady gaga would be proud to know she had inspired such a brilliant masterpiece. :)

thank you. the best thing about making pictures is that there are no rules. one can choose the shapes and colours one wishes. perfect for a non-conformist! ;)
