For those in the New York City area: Perla will be appearing August 10 at the Loft at City Winery in NYC. Tickets will be on sale June 1.

We like to see her performing again, the last time was in New York at the Leonard Cohen Event 2004 .

If you have a chance, do go! There will be a number of Cohenities including myself
in Purmerend, so it will also be a kind of informal meetup.
. There are still some very good tickets available for the first few rows!

Had a very nice evening with about a dozen Cohenites at this concert last night. Perla sung beautifully and we also had the chance to talk to her afterwards. I haven’t got any photos that are good enough to post here but I am sure that others (especially Wybe) have.

PERLA BATALLA IN ANTWERP ROMA DECEMBER 6,2019
Op vrijdag 6 december 2019 transformeert De Roma één avond lang in House of Cohen. De Amerikaanse Perla Batalla zal er bekende en minder bekende parels van Leonard Cohen afwisselen met uniek beeldmateriaal en persoonlijke anekdotes die aantonen dat Cohen veel meer is dan het cliché-beeld van "Godfather of Gloom”. In 'House of Cohen' benadrukt ze zijn humor en de lichtheid waarmee hij door het leven stapte.
Perla Batalla werkte in de jaren tachtig en negentig intensief met Cohen samen. Zo zingt ze mee op diens album "The Future” en schitterde ze tijdens de Field Commandor shows van 1988 (o.a. in Koningin Elisabethzaal) en 1993 (o.a. in Flanders Expo).
