don't worry, dear violet. i am used to pieces of gravel jumping up onto my sandal. i know this gentleman, he sleeps in a cardboard box under eastbourne pier - not far from an internet cafe. very sad.

As Sir Chris never tires of telling us, he was born in France. Accordingly, I find it curious that he writes cafe when he should, naturally, be writing café. If there are two things I detest it is Reverse Snobbery and Sir Chris's calculated insouciance are both of it.

May I add, as my old Mathematics Professor Lady Timothy Sprawlhugger used to jest, that although I have never visited the Rich Man's playground of Eastbourne, with which Sir Chris appears to be intimately familiar,I have heard it has no equal. It is pierless.
