apparition

the morning before full moon night
i saw a cloud draw in
moving too fast for a weather

the earth was white from recent snow
like powdered sugar on frozen ground
i pondered the letter

a flock of songbirds too many
to count them insect-like
approached my seat from approx south

how it left us much the same
how the birds chased up and down
how they danced above the town

their cluster soon thinned out
the birds dispersed
and left this winter world the way it was

early next day i woke to the song of the lark

tom~

They left you this poem 8)
and left this winter world the way it was
Nice visual images. I like the moon's reference being in the future-tense. And the speaker's points of focus: letter, sky, birds, etc. makes for a vast picture of a whole.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your input, Sandra and Laurie.

Yes, they left me this poem. But they brought the song of the lark as well. :)

Indeed a major change has been brought along by the birds. Only the "i" didn't realize that but later...

Thanks again for commenting.

Cheers
