Leonard Cohen on Mt. Baldy.

I wrote this a few years ago.
I offer it as a Tribute
So Long, Lennie 1934 - 2016
Leonard Cohen on Mt. Baldy.
Imagine him, zen-stooped,
a brittle dawn belittled
by night, his Spanish guitar
silenced, as mantra, locus
of his engagement, each hour
cartographed with the minute
journeys of imagination.
Adobes of meditation
become the kiln of his song.
Seeped in tones of desperation
yet, though broken, its strings strum the
lineaments of the soul. Image him,
Zen-stilled, longing his song through
another brittle dawn.
