Hi,

It's easy to praise and enjoy this song by Eric Church:

Thanks Steven. Enjoyed it. I will forever associate Eric Church with "Springsteen" which you first brought here.

Hi Kush,

You're most welcome. The first few times I heard "Springsteen," didn't expect the song to have
the durability that it has for lots of people, myself included. Haven't tired of it after many
listenings.

Hi Steven,

There are plenty of youtube videos of Eric Church covering Springsteen songs in concerts but as far as I can tell he has not actually recorded any.
Perhaps you have heard Springsteen was stranded recently and had to be given a ride by some bikers ...

My father said "Son, we're lucky in this town,
It's a beautiful place to be born.
It just wraps its arms around you,
Nobody crowds you and nobody goes it alone"

Your flag flyin' over the courthouse
Means certain things are set in stone
Who we are, what we'll do and what we won't
It's gonna be a long walk home

Hi Kush,

Nice tie-in of the clip about Springsteen being helped out by the bikers and "Long Walk Home."
Hadn't heard about the motorcycle breakdown. The town in the song, of course, is also a stand-in
for whatever foundation everyone has. Common ground between Springsteen and the guys
who came to assist kept things to the upside. It wasn't a long walk home in that situation.

Of a "long walk home" (struggle to reconcile himself to a "town"), Springsteen addresses it well
in his memoir.

Hi Steven,

Looks like Springsteen just received the Presidential Medal of Freedom...along with other favorites of mine - Robert De Niro, Tom Hanks, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Bill and Melinda Gates.

Yes, I think he mentioned somewhere that the town he mentions in the song is a "long walk home" or the town he describes in the song he does not recognize anymore. I have not read his memoir but have heard good things about it.

Flash back to the 'old days', Kush and Steven, with you two talking about Springsteen:-)

Nice Obama speech for the Boss. "The narrative you tell together is bigger than anyone could have told on their own."

Au revoir once again.

Hi Kush,

Apparently, there's a Billy Joel connection to the motorcycle. A search of "Springsteen, Billy Joel and motorcycle"
will bring up stories about this.

Indeed there is, Steven. I googled after your post - did not know Billy Joel builds motorcycles in his spare time !

Hi,

Eric Church covered L.C.'s "Hallelujah" live on stage. There are videos of the performance (or performances?) on YouTube.
