Couldn't care more. This one is so nice and bright, such wonderful colour, like fresh flowers on a sunny summer day!

not much effort went into this one. they tell me when a painter stops trying to make a good picture, that's when they start getting good. didn't seem to work much with me. but thank you, lisa, for such a lovely comment in this silent grey community. if there were any people in this world who could be described as a fresh flower on a sunny summer day, then you would be a prime candidate. a photo from outside my home :-)

Thank you for that photograph: what a wonderful metaphor for how life can feel sometimes! When things seem so desolate, so cold and harsh and inhospitable, it would be good to recall this image of this brave little flower, somehow beating the odds, not just surviving, but blossoming, its little purple petals defiantly declaring, "I will not be defeated! Life can still be beautiful!" :D

yes, a flower is a wonderfully formed piece of art, and 'not even solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these'. what a pity that within every flash of creation exists the ingredients for destruction, that fire is the world's oldest and most effective cleansing agent, that there is no shelter from nature's hunger, that everything we build and cherish is mere compost for the distant seed.

Hi Geoffrey

Perhaps your greatest challenge will be to come up with a portrait which ' we 'don't like.
So far i've loved them all

i am confined to bed at the moment, just up to make a warm drink and check on my mail. feel quite ill, picked up some kind of bug. take care, and thanks for writing :-)

Hello Geoffrey,

I am hesitant to suggest that you have met David's challenge, so I will simply say that in this picture, it appears as though Leonard may have caught a similar bug to that which currently afflicts you. ;-)

Please do take care and get well,
Lisa

Your sister sounds delightful. Do you know her name? She's like several Saints if she puts up with an old curmudgeon like you. How long have you known her? Is she also a Demi-Brit, Demi-Norwegian, or Demi Moore? I hope you let her come in and sit peacefully for a bit before you make her pose for yet another of your Muhamed Ali paintings. As Leonard himself famously said, "Bloody Hell, I'm cream-crackered and must take the weight off my plates".
