My Robin Returns

My Robin Returns

Stands on the wooden trestle fence
its head turned towards me.
I stand at the kitchen sink
watching him watching me.

Whose world will quake first?
Whose trance-like eye will break
the tensed silence between us?
If I move away from the kitchen window

I will miss his next move and I will
have lost out on his magic. His standing
there watching me is him acknowledging
that I too exist and have a being that is of interest

to him just as I acknowledge his being
as of interest to me. Each of us sustaining
one another in this place at this time.
A garden wall and a kitchen window.

It is a nice and gentle poem, it paints a peaceful picture and reading it I feel calm.

Hello Geoffrey, I remember years ago you said you had a home movie of your first, very nervous, attempt at oral sex. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Lovely poem about my favourite bird.

Here is my resident male who I have named Robbie, outside my front door this morning :)
