I enjoyed your poem very much!
Very nice juxtaposition of opposites (Barry and Leonard)
Very interesting dichotomy, Manilow fans and Leonard fans; I wonder if there is anyone who is a big fan of both?
I doubt it, but I suppose all things are possible

I used to live in Toronto many years ago, in an oppressive suburban life that ultimately terrified me, resulting in my escape to Europe.
Every morning I awoke to my radio alarm and subjected myself to the random musical tastes of the masses.
I awoke most days in a rage, listening to songs like..... " ...Flying high upon the wings of love"...over and over...Manilow...Lionel Ritchie...etc. etc.
These days I can record my own song to wake up by, put it in my Galaxy S5 and wake up to whatever I choose to find meaningful and helpful to start the day

Here is my usual wake-up song, somehow related to Leonard's song, Ballad of The Absent Mare:

If you wake up in the mornin' once again
Open your eyes and find the reins
Guide your mind right through the day
Watchin' what you do and what you say
There's no guarantee you'll live another day
Watch what you do and what you say
There's no guarantee you'll live another day

So I put this verse on repeat about ten times and I am well-awake by then.

I am not much of a musician, but I definitely prefer my noise to 'Flying Hingh Upon The Wings Of Love'..... Manilow..Lionel Ritchie.....Rap.....Hip Hop...Blah Blah

The reason you have had so little response is because you are not showing sufficient commitment to the cause of good poeming. People just don't like a casual poster who only submits 30 or so poemings per weekus. If you wish to be taken seriously please increase your contributions to this Forum to a minimum of 65 poets every 7 days, or even per weekus.

Just like Life, this poetition game is all about quantity.
