Perhaps it's inevitable that even here only the stories of men make it on to the record, for the most part. Statistically, as far as I'm aware there are more women than men with depression.

Another obvious omission: Robert Schumann.

Oh, and for AlexandraLaughing, a woman: Agatha Christie.
