Your, Your,

Your lips impress me
And I think your eyes are grand
Your voice angelic harmony
Your wish is my command

Ears like yours are my favorite kind,
(Not too sweet or tart)
And a pair of arms so sublime
They're truly works of art

You're moving on two velvet feet
And stand a perfect height
Where neck meets shoulder is so sweet
I should love to take a bite

Oh, such lovely attributes
Do occupy your seat
Your fingers are without dispute
Ten graceful stars elite.

Your steps leave footprints on my heart
Your laugh vibrates with glee
I just adore all your parts
Your all impresses me.

Hi bee-

Sure...feel free.

I wrote it years ago and it still strikes me as quite funny.
Glad you like.

Please stick my name in very small font somewhere as the author.

regards,
L

I love this, Laurie. It strikes you funny? I guess, maybe, whimsical in its 'dissection'? Tendersweet, I find it.

Love,
Elizabeth

HI LIzzy-

Well partially it is a consider the source: i am about the least romantic person on the planet.

It is near parody status...with a large dose of tongue in cheek hyperbole.

But with, genuine imaginings of a 'real' love poem.

The double-entendre of 'impress' to me is a hoot.
The remark about the the 'seat'--well, funny.

So yes, mostly i find it humorous. But part of that humor is in just knowing it is so Not Me 8)

regards,
L

Ah, oooh-kay, now I get it. You're right that from that perspective, it's totally a hoot, and very much parodious  .

Happy Valentines to both of you too.
I had a huge red heart last night- full of chocolates :) -See's candies, lovely!!!

Dear LaurieAK,
Call this coincidence, but when I read your "Your, Your", I was listening to Marlene Dietrich singing Cole Porter's "You Do Something To Me".
It fits, honest!
Andrew.

HI Andrew~

i've heard of Porter and Dietrich but am not familiar with the song...Do you mean it has 'overthetop' kinda lyrics?

p.s. no such thing as a coincidence 8)

regards,
Laurie

Okay, i got off my duff and found the Porter lyrics:
I was mighty blue
Thought my life was through
'Til the heavens opened
And I gazed at you

Won't you tell me, dear
Why, when you appear,
Something happens to me
And the strangest feeling goes through me?

You do something to me
Something that simply mystifies me
Tell me, why should it be,
You have the power to hypnotize me?

Let me live 'neath your spell
Do do that voodoo that you do so well
For you do something to me
That nobody else could do
Okay...a bit mushy for my taste...but that Porter bloke, i think he'll go far... 8) as for the author of Your, Your...don't quit yer day job....hehe

Dear LaurieAK,
Marlene Dietrich sings the third and fourth stanza of the lyrics you quoted.
And yes, it fits, if you hear her sing!
Yours, underneath the lamplight,
Andrew.
