Well partially it is a consider the source: i am about the least romantic person on the planet.

It is near parody status...with a large dose of tongue in cheek hyperbole.

But with, genuine imaginings of a 'real' love poem.

The double-entendre of 'impress' to me is a hoot.
The remark about the the 'seat'--well, funny.

So yes, mostly i find it humorous. But part of that humor is in just knowing it is so Not Me
