You, Little Girl

No Violet yet. Are Marisha or Myra still posting?

Anyway, I have four tracks for my silent CD ready, including the "We Were Two" I posted earlier. (Actually 5 including thi instrumental I can't think of words for.) so, here is another from earlier this year. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help?

You, Little Girl

The uncertain poets sit strummin' their yarns
Watching cinders waft over the fire
They're passin' their hats through to overstuffed barns
We are workmen, we're worthy of hire.

We take from the poor and the wealthy alike
It's self-evident we're all the same
But our teeth are all straight and remarkably white
Life is good, please don't ask us to change.

Then there's you, little girl
With your cinnamon curls
And your mind all awhirl
With desires

Ridin' high on a wave
There's a world to be saved
And you can't misbehave
You're the choir

And we're all for the Kingdom
We all love the King
And his ransom's been long pre-arranged
But the keys to the Kingdom
He left in our hands.
I'll be back when the locks have been changed.

Now hireling shepherds lie still with their flocks
Watchin' cinders waft over the fire
They're passin' their plates while ignorin' his knocks
We are workmen, we're worthy of hire.

We take from the poor and the wealthy alike
Then we promise them they're not to blame
And our doctrines are sound when they're kept from his light
Life is good, please don't ask us to change.

And raisin' their scepters are them that bare rule
Watchin' cinders waft over the fire
High livin' on taxes, they're spendin' like fools
We are workmen, we're worthy of hire.

We take from the poor though the wealthy demurred
And our deeds we do all in their names
But our pension is safe and our mortgage insured
Life is good, please don't ask us to change.

Then there's you, little girl
With your cinnamon curls
And your mind all awhirl
With desires

Ridin' high on a wave
There's a world to be saved
And you can't misbehave
You're the choir

And we're all for the Kingdom
We all love the King
And his ransom's been long pre-arranged
But the keys to the Kingdom
He left in our hands
I'll be back when the locks have been changed.

Oh, Doctor I'm tired she's growin' so old
Watchin' cinders waft over the fire
She can't pay your bills she's so deep in this hole
She's your workman, she's worthy of hire.

She gives to the poor and the wealthy alike
She's your servant, she's upheld your name
But her eyesight is failing, she's blind to the light
Life is hard, she's alone, she can't change.

.--- .. ---

And we're all for the Kingdom
We all love the King
And his ransom's been long pre-arranged
But the keys to the Kingdom
He left in our hands
I'll be back when the locks have been changed.
I'll be back when the locks have been changed.

Toasting is not necessary, but thanks for the reply, Boss. Have you resolved yourself to Hitler's salvation yet, btw. Knowing he would burn again used to be a big thing with you, you said.

'Hitler' has been alive for many thousands of years. It seems the appropriate organisations won't finish him off because they still get too much out of him. Tell these mobs to get into action and do something honest and lawful for once. Get rid of the bastard.

In that same vein, if I poked the right one this time: I think he is the organization, is directing the mob, and the mob suffers from medium term memory loss. AND they've all stopped smoking. Most of them even eat like Hitler now, though they do love their alcohol.

But they won't listen to me. Turns out I am high level autistic. I don't communicate as society expects. I have a strange sense of humor. I rock my head back and forth to recover from social situations I can't avoid. All this played havoc with raising some of my kids, I'm told by them now. I abused them. I frightened them. I moved too often. Now I'm abusing their mother. Etc.

So I am even more marginalized than usual at the moment.

I could tell Leonard Cohen what to say... To the mob... Or he could just say what's in his mind about it all.

Remember that poem about them coming for this guy and nobody was left to stand up for him because he hadn't stood up for anybody himself? I saw that used in the context of not standing up against religious minorities before it's too late. You, know, the minorities that stubbornly adhere to their culture, traditions and law and such?

Sheesh, Boss, aren't you at least bit curious about what kind of abuse I'm accused of?

If I am more or less innocent, can I appeal?

Things have changed here. I realize the gears of justice turn slowly, especially these days, but I don't remember an open question of mine being left hanging this long before. Not in the Leonard Cohen Forum, anyway.

Is nothing sacred again?

?

Meanwhile I have another non-depressing and long vocabulary-challenged poem to post.

So be it then. However I insist the record reflect my insistence that you have judged an innocent man, and done so based on the word of nihilistic money-grubbing double kitten killer, though otherwise lovable soul.

Boss, all you've got to know is this: right now the government of the United States is sitting on top of the Washington Monument, right on the very point, tilting right and left and ready to fall off and break up on the pavement. There are just a handful of men that can prevent it. And you're one of them.

We are here to help in any way we can.

It's my duty to persist so you know.

Merry Christmas to you as well.
